Review: Del Taco
By Adrian Torres
A Del Taco has recently opened in the Tulsa community at E 71st and Mingo.
Del Taco, an American fast food restaurant chain, has recently opened in Tulsa. I went to see what the big excitement was. Del Taco has a variety of options in its menu, extending from Mexican food to traditional American food. They also have healthy and vegan options. I chose one item from each menu in order to see what the new restaurant has to offer.
First, I got the Chicken Quesadilla from the Mexican menu. From looking at the packaging, it looked cheap, coming wrapped in foil. At first, it didn’t look appetizing, but once I tasted it, the presentation didn't matter. Everything is well cooked. Overall, I give it a 7 out of 10. I recommend this chicken quesadilla for someone that wants something simple and doesn't know what to order.
The next item I tried was the Double Del Cheeseburger. The looks of it were appealing and its packaging was nice. The cheeseburger included tomato, onion, and lettuce. The burger wasn’t greasy or dry; it was somewhere in the middle, perfect for a meal. Overall, I give it a 8 out of 10. I recommend it when you're hungry and want something to fill you up. I would also recommend it if you are a fan of burgers.
The last item I tried from Del Taco was the Pollo Asado with Avocado Bowl. It comes in a clear container that includes chicken, rice, onion, tomato, black beans, and two slices of avocado. The presentation was great as well as the flavor. What I liked was the flavor of all the ingredients blending together. I give this a 5 out of 10. This bowl is for someone that wants to set back on greasy food, but also wants a good meal to eat.
Overall I do recommend going to the new Del Taco that has opened. Not only is it a new place to eat, but they have a variety of food for many people to eat.
